ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Juan Declet-Barreto is Senior Social Scientist for Climate Vulnerability for the Climate & Energy Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists. At UCS, he researches, maps, analyzes, communicates, and finds solutions to the inequitable human health and livelihood impacts of environmental hazards, particularly those exacerbated by climate change.

An interdisciplinary environmental and social scientist, Dr. Declet-Barreto earned a Ph.D. in environmental social sciences, M.A. and B.S. degrees in geography, and an associate’s degree in geographic information systems, from Arizona State University.
