Environmental Experts of Color Database

An expansive list of experts on environmental and environmental justice issues.

In 2022, a U.S. House Office of Diversity and Inclusion survey found that 62% of non-governmental witnesses who testified at House hearings identified as White. The implication is that the voices of communities of color are rarely represented before vital governmental bodies, even as decisions are being made that directly impact their health, livelihoods, and families. As organizations from across the environmental movement call upon the same set of experts to generate research, write policies, and serve on panels, a narrow group of voices have a disproportionate influence on policy and public discourse. Clearly, there is an immense need to increase the diversity of environmental experts appearing before legislative bodies.

To address this challenge, Green 2.0’s Environmental Experts of Color Database offers an expansive set of leaders on environmental and environmental justice topics. Our convening power ensures a wide range of experiences and backgrounds. The leaders represented in this database hold invaluable knowledge and a more representative set of perspectives on vital environmental issues.
