ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Wordna serves as the Vice President of People & Culture for The Wilderness Society. She previously worked for DC Public Schools as their Manager of Equity & Diversity. Wordna has spent more than a decade working in the education and non-profit fields. She started her career as a Teach For America corps member teaching third grade in Houston, TX. She went on to manage community outreach efforts for local charter schools and non-profit organizations in Washington, DC, including serving as National Field Director for GirlTrek, the nation’s largest public health movement organizing Black women. Wordna earned a B.A. in History from Harvard University and an M.A. in Change Leadership from Columbia University. She, her husband, and two children live in Washington, DC.
