ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Raina Turner-Greenlea is Co-Founder & Director of Black Sustainability, Inc., building & managing the largest global network of sustainability practitioners of Afrikan descent. She is a staunch proponent of employing sustainable solutions to human challenges by emulating nature’s time-tested patterns and strategies, informed by indigenous wisdom. Mrs. Greenlea has designed and implemented green workforce development training programming, led community-based data research on energy burdens, supported the development of plain language translation materials for policy, community health, energy burdens and technical assistance across multiple states, designed apprenticeship programming that sharpens skills of Black people & communities on the margins to become more self-sufficient.

Raina’s sincere desire is that people of African descent increase our interdependence & build Black AND Green supply chains through self-actualization and sufficiency; this includes economic development, cooperative work and intentional reinvestment in each other. This cannot be achieved if we fail to value and recognize culture as our immune system and the key to restoring MAAT/balance to Asase Yaa, mother Earth. As a mother and wife, she is also applying what she promotes by reviving 160 acres of family land with regenerative land & agroecological practices in rural Georgia.
