ABOUT THE EXPERT:
Dr. Angel R. Torres-Valcárcel completed a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences at the University of Puerto Rico (UPR), a master’s degree in Public Health from UPR Medical Sciences Campus and a PhD in Climatology from Purdue University in 2013. Dr. Torres-Valcarcel taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Environmental Sciences, Public Health, Environmental Planning and Geographic Information Systems in Puerto Rico. The author is also the main founder and current president at COSUAM de Puerto Rico, a local non-profit organization founded in 2007 to promote Environmental Sustainability and Public Health in the island. Dr. Torres-Valcárcel has authored peer review articles about Puerto Rico’s climate and coauthored articles and book chapters on geotechnologies, Public Health and Marine Conservation.
