I live and work on the traditional lands of the Yup’k and Cup’ik people where I currently serve as the Self-Governance Director at the Orutsararmiut Native Council. I work to protect and enforce the self-determination and sovereignty of the Tribe, advocate for our rights and help address the needs of our Tribal citizens. I also work as the second-in-command to the Executive Director and manage Tribal Operations of the organization. Previously, I served the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for almost 15 years, working within the management series with a strong emphasis and interest in visitor services and community engagement. I began my career with the agency as a student trainee at the South Texas Refuge Complex. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from what is now recognized as UTRGV and a Master of Wildlife Sciences from Texas A&M University.
