ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Katherine Garcia, the director of Sierra Club’s Clean Transportation for All campaign, is working to reduce climate and air pollution from cars, trucks, and buses and ensure that our communities are walkable, bikeable, and transit-accessible. She is an electric vehicle expert and an authority on clean mobility. Katherine represents the Sierra Club in multiple coalitions including the Alliance for Electric School Buses and the Coalition Helping America Rebuild and Go Electric (CHARGE). She also serves on the Advisory Committee for the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program Investment Plan. Previously, Katherine was a member of the founding team that launched the Center for Open Data Enterprise, which aims to maximize the value of open government data for the public good. She earned her Master of Public Administration from Baruch College in New York City and BA in Communication at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She lives in Washington, DC with her family.
