ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Valeree Catangay (she/her) is a sustainability professional, artist, and climate activist based in Los Angeles, CA. She has created climate action plans and sustainability programs in the technology, real estate, manufacturing, media and entertainment industries, and currently works in the nonprofit space. In previous roles, she collaborated on sustainability for large scale organizations including Warner Bros. Discovery and Dolby Laboratories. She values a vision of environmentalism that centers equity, diversity, and intersectionality. She has been involved in arts activism and educational campaigns to advocate for environmental justice in her community, including co-creating the Environmentalists of Color Collective at UCLA, a space that amplifies BIPOC environmental narratives through events, workshops, and art collaborations. She graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Environmental Science. Valeree finds joy in camping, painting landscapes, and attending craft fairs and flea markets.
