51 ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS PLEDGE EQUITABLE PAY FOR ALL EMPLOYEES

Green 2.0’s “Pay-Equity Pledge” Promotes Commitment to DEIJ Standards, Including Salary Equity

WASHINGTON — Green 2.0 today announced the 51 environmental organizations nationwide that have pledged to ensure a more equitable environmental sector by signing on to the Green 2.0 Pay Equity Pledge. The pledge holds environmental organizations accountable to standards to ensure that women and people of color are receiving equitable compensation for their work.

“Every day, passionate staff at environmental organizations work for a better world, and the Green 2.0 Pay Equity Pledge is a logical step and excellent opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to a more diverse, equitable, inclusive and just world.” said Adriane Alicea, Managing Director of Green 2.0. “But the movement doesn’t stop with these organizations. The bold leadership of the environmental sector will serve as a beacon for others.”

By taking this pledge, organizations commit to a three-step process to ensure pay is equitable across the board for all employees, regardless of race, ethnicity or gender identity:

  1. Conduct a pay equity analysis of staff compensation to find differences in compensation in regard to race, ethnicity, and gender identity.
  2. Collect and analyze relevant data.
  3. Take corrective actions to remediate pay disparities.
