Green 2.0 Announces Whitney Tome as New Executive Director
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Green 2.0, an initiative dedicated to increasing racial diversity across mainstream environmental NGOs and foundations, today announced that Whitney Tome has joined the organization as its new executive director.
“We are delighted to have Whitney Tome, who has been a member of the Green 2.0 working group, join the staff of our organization. Throughout her career, whether working to improve ocean sustainability or diversity and inclusion, Whitney has been a committed leader of the environmental movement. She is both results-driven and a thoughtful communicator. I am confident that under her leadership our campaign will usher in a new era of inclusivity in environmentalism,” said Robert Raben, founder and president of Green 2.0.
“In order for the environmental movement to achieve its vital goals, we need everyone to be included and represented. I am proud to be a part of Green 2.0‘s campaign to help environmental NGOs and funders finally achieve the diversity so long overdue for our movement,” said Whitney Tome, executive director of Green 2.0.
Prior to joining Green 2.0, Ms. Tome was director of diversity and inclusion for the National Parks Conservation Association. She has also served as a mediator and program manager for the Meridian Institutes and a senior projects manager for the Environmental Defense Fund.
