ABOUT THE EXPERT:

Dionna Brown grew up in Flint, Michigan. Dionna currently serves as the National Director of the Youth Environmental Justice Griot Program for Black Millennials 4 Flint where she carries out her mission to educate the youth and create future activists in her community. Dionna’s experience with living through the Flint Water Crisis sparked her thirst to be a voice for her community. She is a living testament to Flint kids living through adversity yet still being successful in many different areas of life.

Dionna’s drive for environmental justice and education also comes from the privilege of being educated at Howard University where she obtained a bachelor’s in Sociology as a first-generation college student. She is a second-year graduate student at Wayne State University where she is working on her Master’s in Sociology. She plans on attending law school after graduation to become an environmental justice lawyer.

Dionna is passionate about environmental and climate justice at the intersection of race and gender, law, politics, and social justice. She always strives to learn more about her passions and believes in always being teachable. She is also fluent in Simplified Chinese.
