GREEN 2.0 REACTION TO CLOSURE OF U.S. HOUSE OFFICE OF DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION

WASHINGTON — Adriane Alicea, Managing Director of Green 2.0, today released the following statement on the disbandment of the U.S. House Office of Diversity and Inclusion:

“It’s disappointing that an office instituted to ensure equitable treatment in “the People’s House” is being shut down.

As the record keeper of demographic data and a provider of resources to staff, the House DEI Office is critical to ensuring a more inclusive body that reflects the diversity of the American people.

We hope that the new Office of Talent Management will track data on demographics and diversity and commit to creating a more inclusive Congress. At a time when DEI programs are under attack across the country, it is this body’s responsibility to lead the charge for inclusion and justice for all.”
