about the event:
Green 2.0 in coordination with Senator Cory Booker, and Representative Jimmy Gomez invite you to Reimagining a Diverse and Inclusive Great Outdoors.
In 2019, data collected from National Park Service, US Forest Service, and Fish and Wildlife Service found that 88% to 95% of all visitors to public lands are White. Communities of color have a long history of being systematically excluded and facing discrimination and racism on public lands. At the same time, there is a movement of communities and organizations led by people of color who are guiding the effort to foster diversity and inclusion in outdoor spaces to ensure that every person can safely participate and benefit from public lands.
